One caveat on the top-fill pod: VOOPOO rates the 0.4ohm for 18-30W, and this device caps at 25W. It will fire, but only at the bottom of its band. On the Vmate Pro use the 0.7ohm Top Fill, or the 0.7ohm and 1.2ohm V2 pods.

No. The coil is integrated into the pod, so you replace the pod as a unit. That is the normal wear part on this kit.

Which pods fit the Vmate Pro?
Both family pods. VOOPOO lists the Vmate Pro as taking the VMate V2 pod in 0.7ohm or 1.2ohm, which is what the kit ships with, and the VMate Top Fill pod in 0.7ohm. Leave the 0.4ohm Top Fill alone on this device: VOOPOO rates it for 18-30W and the Vmate Pro tops out at 25W.

Does it use nic salt or freebase?
Either. The 1.2ohm pod suits salt e-liquid, the 0.7ohm suits freebase.

How is this different from the Vmate Max?
The Vmate Max runs to 30W on a 1200mAh battery and uses the top-fill pod out of the box. The Pro tops out at 25W on 900mAh and ships with the side-fill V2 pods.
